Map

The map above will show our planned route of flight in magenta, as well as our actual route of flight in yellow. During flight, you'll see a blue plane showing our present position (updated every ~10 minutes), and green balloons will indicate where we've landed. You can also look at this map in Full Screen.

2 weeks!

In just under two weeks, Jim and I will begin our journey across North America, picking up Jerry in Colorado, and Kevin in Florida before we head Southeast, past the Bahamas to Turks and Caicos.  It will take us 3 days to get to Florida, with overnight stops in Fort Collins CO, New Orleans LA (or something else!), and Fort Lauderdale FL.  From there, we'll head to Turks and Caicos and spend a few days SCUBA diving on each island we visit before we return back to Florida on 8/29 to head home.

  1. So you have to do something special, like delay additionally after diving before flying to higher altitudes, right?

  3. Andy: yea, there are rules regarding flying and diving. Generally the rule is 24 hours after your last dive before flying in order to reduce the risk of DCS. This even applies to flying in commercial jets since even pressurized aircraft don't pressurize down all the way down to sea level. Our plan is to get a morning dive in on the last day in any given location, keeping it a shallow one, and then stay out of the water the remainder of the day before our hop the following morning.

And, yes. Jim = Cherokee Six.
